GBP suspension reason lookup
If your profile vanished or the dashboard says 'Suspended', start here. Each reason has the signals to look for, the fix, and the prevention.
Hard suspension
Keyword stuffing in the business name
Adding location, service, or descriptor words to the business name violates Google's representation guidelines. The name must match the real-world signage and legal trading name.
Hard suspension
Address violation (service-area business)
Service-area businesses — plumbers, locksmiths, mobile detailers — must hide their address unless they serve customers at the listed location during stated hours.
Hard suspension
Ineligible business model
Google requires a real-world business that interacts with customers face-to-face — either at a location or at the customer's address.
Soft suspension
Duplicate listing
Each real-world location may only have one verified profile. Duplicates arising from rebrands, ownership changes, or unclaimed legacy listings should be merged or removed.
Hard suspension
Shared office / virtual address
Google enforces that the listed address is a real, staffed location open to customers. Shared or virtual addresses are flagged automatically.
Soft suspension
Primary category mismatch
While usually not a suspension trigger by itself, choosing a category that misrepresents the business — to chase a higher-volume vertical — can lead to quality-team action and ranking suppression.
Hard suspension
Fake reviews or review gating
Buying reviews, exchanging reviews, or filtering happy customers to Google while routing unhappy ones elsewhere ('review gating') violates Google's review policy.
